Celebrating India’s 75th Independence Year With Tricolour Rice with Green/Carrot palya.
Ingredients
- Cut Green beans
- Grated Carrot
- Shredded coconut
- Chana dal
- Black mustard seeds
- Asafetida
- Oil
- Chile
- Red for Beans
- Green for carrots
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric
- Salt
- Onion
- Optionally
- Tomato
- Ginger/Garlic
- Cilantro
- Blueberries for decoration.
Directions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, chana dal
- When the dal turn golden, add hing , curry leaves, Onion
- Red Chilli for Beans
- Green Chilli for Carrot
- Fry till the Onion turn crisp.
- Add chopped beans/Carrot,turmeric along with salt and saute for 2 mins.
- Cook covered for 2 to 3 mins on a low flame. This helps to release the moisture.
- If needed sprinkle 1 to 2 tbsps water. Cover and cook until soft and tender.
- Add coconut.
- Mix well and saute for a minute.
- Switch off and serve beans/Carrot palya with rice.
