Today is World Elephant Day international annual event. Nature's great masterpiece. Hope grandchildren may never be able to see an elephant except in a picture book. So today recipe is Radish Sambar
Ingredients
- Radish
- Toor Dhal
- Turmeric Powder
- Sambar powder
- Olive oil
- Red chillies
- Tamarind Juice
- Mustard seeds
- Onion
- Tomatoes
- Coriander leaves
- Asafoetida (Hing)
- Cumin seeds
- Curry leaves
- Salt
- Water
Directions
- Cook In a pressure cooker, take toor dhal with water Add salt and turmeric powder. Once cooked let it cool down.
- In parallel, On a pan, pour oil. When the oil gets heated, add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds, dry red chillies.
- Add few chopped onions and sprinkle some salt. Saute for few minutes.
- Add fenugreek seeds, asafoetida powder and mix it well.
- Add chopped radish pieces and saute it slightly.
- Next add tomatoes and saute.
- Now add turmeric powder, sambar powder Saute for a minute.
- Add a cup of water and add cooked toor dhal and mix it well.
- Now add tamarind juice and mix well. Add more water if necessary.
- Let it boil.
- Now sprinkle roughly chopped coriander leaves and it is ready to serve.
